Field Day: Yates Signs Multi-Year ESPN Extension

NFL Insider Field Yates has signed a new multi-year extension to remain with ESPN and the timing couldn’t be better.

With the 2018-19 NFL season kicking off tonight, fans will see and hear from him all year long.

Yates joined ESPN in 2012 after spending time in the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs organizations. His profile has continued to rise the past six years as both an NFL contributor and as one of ESPN’s foremost fantasy football experts.

Yates appears on NFL Live, SportsCenter and other ESPN shows year-round, and he is a co-host of the popular Fantasy Focus Football podcast with Matthew Berry, Stephania Bell and Daniel Dopp. Affectionately dubbed the #06010 (for ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., zip code), Fantasy Focus scored nearly 4.2 million downloads in August – just shy of its one-month record of 4.5 million – and is now streamed live weekdays on Twitter at 11 a.m. ET.

This Sunday, Yates will kick off another season of Fantasy Football Now (10 a.m. ET, ESPN2) with Berry, Bell, Tim Hasselbeck and new host Molly Qerim Rose. His football Sundays will also include co-hosting a pair of ESPN Radio national shows – Operation Football with Randy Scott and Andrew Hawkins (1 p.m.) and Football Friendzy with Rachel Lindsay and Bobby Carpenter (5 p.m.).

“Field brings so much versatility to our ESPN team – he breaks NFL news, analyzes the game and offers expert advice on fantasy football. He is a rising star in our business,” said Seth Markman, senior coordinating producer for ESPN’s NFL studio shows.
