Talkin’ Baseball: ESPN’s Spring Training Red Sox All-Access A Big Hit

This week, ESPN and the Boston Red Sox teamed up for the Red Sox All-Access special initiative.

Coverage of the World Series Champions crossed virtually all ESPN platforms – from a J.D. Martinez Instagram takeover to Mookie Betts, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Brock Holt being “mic’d up” in the outfield. ESPN even had the Cora brothers – Boston manager Alex and Pittsburgh third base coach Joey – mic’d up simultaneously during the Sox-Pirates game on March 6.

ESPN’s innovative coverage earned media raves for these moments: Bradley’s in-game interview was interrupted by a fly ball and viewers heard the best of the outfielders’ banter.

In the video above, ESPN Senior Vice President, Production and Remote Events, Mark Gross, answers questions regarding the initiative.

Katie Hughes and Jon McLeod produced the video. Ben Cafardo contributed to this post.
