Monday Night Football rivals Jets, Patriots talk STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

Anticipation of the film’s Dec. 20 release date heightens as final trailer debuts tonight at halftime of AFC East battle (8:15 p.m. ET); Edelman, Bell and their respective teammates star in movie campaign.

STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER will be released in theaters nationwide on Dec. 20 and fans are eagerly awaiting the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga.

Tonight, the countdown to the film’s release date begins in earnest as the final trailer will debut on ESPN’s Monday Night Football during halftime of the New England Patriots versus New York Jets game (8:15 p.m. ET).

This is the third time that Lucasfilm has debuted a STAR WARS trailer during the MNF halftime on ESPN, following THE FORCE AWAKENS in 2015 and THE LAST JEDI in 2017.

In addition to the trailer release, several current players from the Patriots – Michael Bennett, Lawrence Guy and Julian Edelman – and Jets – Le’Veon Bell, Robby Anderson and Ryan Kalil – appear in a new Star Wars campaign spots produced by ESPN Creative Works.
