We know how sports fans are feeling right now, because we are sports fans, too.
With that thought firmly entrenched, ESPN’s Corporate Citizenship team conceived of the idea and strategy, wrote the script and then reached out to ESPN’s Marketing team.
This #oneteam public service announcement (PSA) highlights that with games and practices on pause, we are still on one big team with important roles to play, including keeping our distance, checking on each other and supporting the heroes on the front line.
Once the concept came together, we moved quickly because we wanted to share, in ESPN’s voice, the emotions sports fans are having in this unprecedented time and what we can do to help. We are all in this together.
Teamwork is part of our culture and the collaboration on the #oneteam PSA is a shining example of departments coming together to reach a common goal. Many of our commentators and analysts volunteered to be involved – Stephen A. Smith, Doris Burke, Molly Qerim Rose, Jay Bilas, Holly Rowe, Laura Rutledge and Chris Fowler, to name a few.
The talent office quickly scheduled 24 well-known faces to record their parts from their home offices and our marketing group produced the spot smoothly over the weekend. At ESPN, we are #oneteam, too!
