As
SportsCenter’s “50 States in 50 Days” tour rolls through Kansas, the 6 p.m. ET Friday, July 11 show heads to Wichita with a stop on the Dude Perfect World Tour.

SportsCenter anchor Kevin Negandhi and veteran ESPN producer Charlie Moynihan, who worked on the original “50-50” series in 2005, share what makes this stop stand out and why it’s more than just trick shots.

KEVIN NEGANDHI, ANCHOR

What makes this Dude Perfect assignment distinctive?
This is a first for me, and that alone makes it special. The Dude Perfect crew has contagious energy. They’re elite entertainers and competitors, and they know how to engage a crowd — just like any major sporting event. It’s the same passionate atmosphere you’d find at a Super Bowl or NBA Finals. I can’t wait to cover that energy.

How do you connect with fans?
At my core, I’m a fan first. I never lose sight of that. Whether someone is young, old, or from any background, if you approach storytelling with authentic passion, it resonates. Dude Perfect’s appeal is rooted in fun and excellence—that’s right up my alley.

You’re bringing your kids along. How meaningful is that?
It means everything. When this stop came up, I immediately said yes. My kids love Dude Perfect, and we watch their challenges at home all the time. Sharing this with them — and my wife — as part of a summer trip is a memory we’ll never forget.

What’s one behind-the-scenes thing fans might not realize?
Flexibility is everything. We’re adjusting plans hours before air—changing rundowns, adding segments, coordinating with editors. Like a quarterback, I rely on an incredible team. When it works, it feels seamless. But it takes total teamwork.

CHARLIE MOYNIHAN, PRODUCER

What’s it like bringing “50-50” back?
Hard to believe it’s been nearly 20 years. I still remember our California stop at SBC Park during Barry Bonds’ home run chase. Reviving this series has been a full-circle moment.

How has producing changed since 2005?
Dramatically. TVU packs allow us to stream in 4K from anywhere. It’s made live shows more mobile and immediate than ever.

Why Wichita — and why Dude Perfect?
Wichita represents what “50-50” is all about: shining a light on places and moments that aren’t always in the national spotlight. Dude Perfect embodies that non-traditional, high-energy spirit perfectly.
