Championship Weekend: Three things fans won’t want to miss

ESPN is bringing innovative viewing options, fan-first experiences, a full slate of studio programming and big performances to this year’s SEC and ACC Championship Games. Here are three things to know before kickoff.

  1. Alternate telecasts and new technology give fans more ways to watch

Fans can customize their Championship Weekend experience with multiple viewing options. For the SEC Championship, Field Pass features Will Compton, Taylor Lewan, Josh Pate and Harry Douglas presented by The Pat McAfee Show, with SEC Network also offering a SkyCast view. The matchup from Atlanta is this week’s 4K Game of the Week, giving fans the highest-quality look at the title showdown.

The ACC will have ACC Championship Field Pass with ACC Huddle pairs Taylor Tannebaum, Eric Mac Lain, Eddie Royal and 2021 ACC Coach of the Year Dave Clawson. The game on ABC also features expanded technology, including two RefCams and enhanced replay access with the ACC Game Day Operations Center.

  1. ESPN is rolling out fan-first championship activations

ESPN is giving both SEC and ACC fans an all-in-one experience built around both conference networks, the College Football Playoff and the enhanced ESPN App. Across Championship Weekend, fans can dive into interactive rooms, explore CFP bracket walls, meet App-E and grab exclusive giveaways in each championship’s respective fan events: Dr Pepper SEC FanFare at Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, and ACC Championship Fan Fest at Romare Bearden Park in uptown CLT

  1. Championship weekend brings wall-to-wall studio shows alongside high-profile live performances

ESPN is bringing a full lineup of studio coverage to both SEC and ACC Championship sites. In Atlanta, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, SEC Nation, Marty & McGee, The Paul Finebaum Show, The Pat McAfee Show, College Football Live, Countdown to College GameDay, SEC Now and SEC Football Final will all originate from the SEC title bout. In Charlotte, Inside ACCess, ACC Huddle, ACC Huddle Final Score and ACC PM will anchor ACC Network’s on-site coverage throughout the weekend.

Both title games kick off with major performances. At the SEC Championship, Ludacris headlines the T-Mobile Concert with a live performance that sets the tone for the day, and the first two songs of his set will air live on Marty & McGee. In Charlotte, Rick Ross brings his signature energy to the ACC Championship, just steps from Bank of America Stadium.
