On Saturday, May 10, Mike & Mike researcher Kristen “Balbiz” Balboni threw out the ceremonial first pitch at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina, before the Tar Heels’ home baseball game against Florida State (see video below). She said of her experience, “It was an incredible honor to throw out the first pitch at my alma mater, UNC. And while my pitching skills could use some work, I had so much fun and I am so thankful to the university and UNC Baseball for giving me such an awesome opportunity.”

ESPN Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd hit the road today, with a live broadcast from Legends Bar in New York. The broadcast was part of the fifth annual ESPN Audio Baseball Tour and was in celebration of Cowherd’s 10-year anniversary at ESPN.

“It’s’The Herd’s’ 10-year anniversary and spending a day in New York is a great way to celebrate,” said Cowherd. “And with Ivan Nova going down for the Yankees, I may as well audition to be the Yankees fifth starter while I’m at it.”

The Herd is broadcasting in New York in the midst of the Subway Series between the New York Mets and Yankees. Cowherd welcomed several guests to his show today, including “Late Night” host Seth Meyers and veteran Major League Baseball managers Bobby Valentine and Willie Randolph.
