On Jan. 7, 2004, ESPN Deportes launched as the Spanish-language television destination for ESPN’s sports fans in the United States. Today, the brand has transformed into a multimedia business reaching 11 million Hispanic sports fans. That’s more than any Spanish-language sports media brand. To celebrate this milestone, the video above looks back at ESPN Deportes and the journey of the past 10 years through the eyes of employees and executives who have been part of it since inception.
Today, in honor of the anniversary, ESPN Deportes is taking over Ocean Drive in South Beach in Miami, Fla. with an all-day production. Programming highlights include the live production of Raza Deportiva and Jorge Ramos y Su Banda – both simulcast on ESPN Deportes Radio. There is also a special live edition of Nacion ESPN, presenting the best of the last decade. Learn more about ESPN Deportes by clicking here.
