Before he competes in The Chase, Harvick makes another pit stop at ESPN
Kevin Harvick is among the 16 drivers competing in the new-look Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, which begins Sunday with the MyaFibStory.Com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway (1 p.m. ET, ESPN/WatchESPN).
Wednesday, Harvick stopped by ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., campus to participate in a Car Wash to discuss his preparation for The Chase’s 2014 kickoff race. He parked his No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet show car outside ESPN’s new Digital Center 2 studios, where he conducted a SportsCenter interview and met ESPN employees.
Even though this marked Harvick’s first visit to ESPN’s new DC-2 studios, he’s navigated the campus’ hallways before as depicted in a memorable but subtle “This Is SportsCenter” commercial.
In the video above, Harvick discusses the prospect of winning at Chicagoland, where he won Sprint Cup races in 2001 and 2002; the making of that SportsCenter ad and his idea for a new one; his ESPN Fantasy Football experience with ESPN expert Matthew Berry thus far and much more.
