TaylorMade: Miesha Tate

EDITOR’S NOTE: Continuing Front Row’s pledge to take fans places they rarely see, today we kick off a new series from editorial assistant Taylor Garrett called “TaylorMade.” The recurring feature will put you alongside Taylor as she roams the studios, halls, buildings, offices and green rooms across ESPN’s sprawling Bristol, Conn., campus. This week, we bring you the second edition of “TaylorMade” as she spent the day with the current UFC 196 bantamweight champ, Miesha Tate, during her “Car Wash” on March 29, 2016. Tate’s visit to ESPN also fell on the 10-year anniversary of the beginning of her Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) career.

11 a.m.: Miesha ran into WWE executive Stephanie McMahon (L) outside of the SportsCenter studios.

11:30 a.m.: First Take’s Molly Qerim, Stephen A. Smith and Skip Bayless welcome Miesha.

11:50 a.m.: Miesha and her crew are big fans of X Games. They stopped to admire the X Games medals gallery.

12:00 p.m. SC Originals digital producer Phil Murphy interviews Miesha.

Phil took Miesha on a little “walk down memory lane” by looking at some old footage of her in her amateur years of MMA and UFC – he even had some of her high school wrestling footage.

12:20 p.m. His & Hers hosts Michael Smith (L) and Jemele Hill interview Miesha.

12:45 p.m.: SportsCenter anchors Michael Eaves (L) and Cari Champion asked Miesha to compare the #SCTop5 Belt with Miesha’s UFC Championship belt: Which do you think got Miesha’s vote?

1:45 p.m.: Miesha visits with ESPN Deportes’ host Alfredo Lomeli.

2:00 p.m.: Miesha, a huge Seattle Seahawks fan, wears a customized jersey courtesy of the team’s “Pro Shop” emblazoned with her signature nickname “Cupcake” and the “12th Man” number. Her dad, Rob, sports his Russell Wilson No. 3 jersey.
