Max Kellerman set to join First Take team on July 25

Today, it was announced that Max Kellerman will join ESPN2’s First Take (weekdays, 10 a.m. ET – noon) beginning Monday, July 25. Kellerman shares his thoughts on his new role with Front Row:

I am really looking forward to July 25. It’s going to be truly excellent working alongside my friends Molly Qerim and, of course, Stephen A. Smith.

When Stephen A. and I worked at ESPN Radio New York, our shows would air back to back. On and off air, we would have detailed and thoughtful discussions about all kinds of topics, sports and otherwise. To do that now for the First Take audience is extremely exciting.

I genuinely appreciate all of the talented people behind the scenes at First Take, who’ve already made me feel so welcome. Not to mention, all of the terrific people at the network who were have done so much in making this all possible: [President, ESPN, Inc.; Co-Chairman, Disney Media Networks] John Skipper, [Executive Vice President, Production] Norby Williamson, [Senior Vice President and Executive Producer, ESPN Films and Original Content] Connor Schell, [Senior Vice President, Production, Business Divisions] Traug Keller, [Vice President, Talent Strategy, Negotiation and Recruitment] Rob Savinelli, [Vice President, ESPN Production] Marcia Keegan, and [Vice President, Original Content] Kevin Wildes. I am incredibly fortunate to call all of these people my colleagues.

There’s one tough part to making this move. I won’t get to work with Marcellus Wiley and Michelle Beadle every day [on SportsNation]. Marcellus is as great a guy as you could ever know. And Michelle is “the best.” Period. I love them both like family.
