Behind The Scenes

What goes into creating MNF’s “front-end” graphics?

The visual presentation of Monday Night Football is as important to ESPN as the coverage of the action on the field during the games. This includes the “front end” graphics that highlight the participating NFL stars during each telecast.

Front Row spoke with MNF associate producer Joseph Smiley as well as content associate Corey Taylor to discuss the process of capturing these images, which takes place months in advance of the NFL season at the facilities of the 26 teams on ESPN’s MNF schedule. The production team’s work highlighted in the video above will be on display tonight as the Detroit Lions visit the New York Giants (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Belen Michelis and Shelby Lacy produced the video above.
