Herbie gets the NFL Draft bug

College football analyst joining ESPN's Round 1 coverage April 26

A “new” but familiar face will be part of ESPN’s coverage of the 2018 NFL Draft: Kirk Herbstreit.

ESPN and ABC’s lead college football analyst, Herbstreit will be part of ESPN’s main set for Round 1 in prime time on Thursday, April 26, joining host Trey Wingo, NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper, Jr. and NFL Front Office Insider Louis Riddick. Herbstreit replaces Jon Gruden, now the Oakland Raiders head coach. Other key contributors to ESPN’s NFL Draft telecast in Arlington, Texas, will include Todd McShay, Suzy Kolber, Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.

“Kirk is the preeminent college football analyst and he will be a great addition to our NFL Draft main set on opening night,” said Seth Markman, ESPN senior coordinating producer, NFL studio shows. “ESPN’s combined expertise in college football and the NFL is unmatched and we were particularly drawn to Kirk’s insight into this year’s highly-touted quarterback class as an opportunity to elevate our coverage.”
