Today, ESPN1000 Chicago will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a “Fanniversary” event honoring 20 years to the date ESPN1000 went on the air as the flagship owned station for ESPN Audio. The “Fanniversary” event is located at Austin’s Fuel Room in Libertyville, Ill., where ESPN1000 will be broadcasting from the entire day. The event will include a live broadcast of Golic & Wingo (5 a.m. – 9 a.m. CT), Kap & Co. (9 a.m. – noon), Carmen & Jurko (noon – 2 p.m.) and Waddle & Silvy (2 p.m.–6 p.m.). Mike Golic shares some of his favorite memories as part of ESPN1000’s start in 1998.
