SEC Network Anchor Peter Burns Makes Famous Finebaum Caller’s Dream Come True

SEC Network’s Peter Burns was filling in for Paul Finebaum on a Monday this past summer when The Paul Finebaum Show regular “Millie from Rolla” called in.

It was the most fabulous experience I’ve ever had in my life.

Over the course of the call, she divulged to Burns that despite being an Alabama Football fan for 57 years, she had never been to Bryant-Denny Stadium for a game. After some heckling from fellow Finebaum faithful “Jim from Tuscaloosa,” Burns knew he had to get Millie to Tuscaloosa to see the Tide. And the fabulous Finebaum Family of listeners quickly embraced the idea.

Burns set Millie up with tickets to Alabama’s home game vs. Mississippi State this past Saturday, SEC Network college football analyst Barrett Jones secured a parking pass, and Finebaum fan Jack Kennington, known as “Captain Jack,” spent the day showing Millie around T-Town. Burns said he had more than 100 people reach out to him on Twitter wanting to host Millie for the day.

“It was the most fabulous experience I’ve ever had in my life,” Millie told Finebaum on Monday’s show (interview above).

“To see how much it meant to Millie really made me realize how lucky we are to do this for a living,” Burns said. “We often take our jobs in sports for granted, so to be able to see it through someone else’s eyes truly put everything into perspective about how we really do have the best jobs in the world.”
