See Sunday NFL Countdown From A Steadicam Operator’s Perspective

Shadeed Sharpe lives his dream every Sunday, roaming the set and relaying live video from the best vantage point in ESPN's NFL studio

Shadeed Sharpe used to watch Sunday NFL Countdown at home. But for the past seven years – working first as a hard camera operator and for the last three seasons as the lead Steadicam operator, the 11-year ESPN employee traded his seat on the couch for a place in the studio, helping create the very show he’s loved watching since he was a young fan.

“To be able to come to this point, to be able to work on the show every week as a big NFL fan, there’s no place I’d rather be,” he said. “If I’m going to be at work on a Sunday, then this is the show I want to work on.”

In the video above, Sharpe invites fans into the Chris BermanTom Jackson Studio in Digital Center 2, the home of ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.

Shelby L. Lacy produced the video.
