For the first time, the interns will be showcasing the highlights of their experience in a new way through the fall video series, the Intern Docuseries.

In the video above, Alexis Porter, NBA Brand Marketing Intern, talks about her favorite project that she’s worked on so far: the #ChampionBlackBusinesses initiative.

During the 2020 NBA Finals, ESPN collaborated with ABC, the NBA and The Undefeated, announced the #ChampionBlackBusinesses initiative as part of ESPN’s “Rise Together” campaign. This initiative elevated Black businesses and their stories, and cemented the importance their imprint has had on their communities.

Jon McLeod and Taylor Garner produced the video.

Most memorable moment in sports: In March 2016, my father and I attended an Elite Eight NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament game: Syracuse versus Virginia at Chicago’s United Center. At that time, Syracuse was the Midwest Region’s No. 10 seed and UVA was a No. 1 seed. Syracuse rallied from a 15-point deficit in just four minutes to take the lead and eventually advance to the Final Four. The atmosphere of the “Madhouse on Madison” was electric! Watching it live as a junior in high school was one of my favorite, funniest, and most exciting basketball memories that I got to share with my father.
