Week in review

“Bountygate” has absorbed the National Football League over this offseason. The New Orleans Saints have been penalized for their antics.

Many have spoken out against putting bounties on players. Still, some former NFL players have said that bounties are a part of the game.

In the video above ESPN NFL analyst Cris Carter spoke with Mike and Mike in the Morning to talk about why he put bounties on opposing players as a form of protection during his career.

Do you agree with Carter’s rationale or are bounties 100 percent off-limits in sports?

Let us know in the comments box below.

Until then, let’s review the week in Front Row:

• ESPN Radio’s Mike Greenberg, co-host of Mike & Mike in the Morning had to literally face the music this Tuesday when he took to the stage to pay off his debt for losing the Mike & Mike “Sheets of Integrity Challenge.” A live audience cheered and enjoyed as Greeny coupled with Dancing with the Stars’ Anna Trebunskaya to dance to Livin’ la Vida Loca. We previewed, reviewed and went behind the scenes of #GreenyTheDance.

• Beginning June 4, ESPN First Take officially will reveal a new look. Stephen A. Smith joins the two-hour weekday ESPN2 morning program fulltime, five days a week. He talks about this and more in our Front & Center podcast.

• ESPN’s award-winning news magazine show, E:60, premiered a new series entitled, PROFILE:60, this Tuesday. The debut episode featured Green Bay Packers QB and NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. You can tune into the show on Tuesday’s at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.

SportsCenter anchor Linda Cohn, a longtime New York Rangers and NHL fan, rides the emotional roller coaster with her team every season. This year with the team’s success she’s been brought back to the glory days of being a Blueshirt loyalist.
