Adam Schefter Discusses Reaction To “The Man I Never Met”

ESPN NFL Insider's personal story about love and family has touched many readers

Earlier this month, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter published his memoir, “The Man I Never Met,” a powerful and inspirational story about his family and his wife Sharri’s late husband, Joe Maio, who was killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

The book, based on a feature Schefter filed for Sunday NFL Countdown in 2016, reveals aspects of his personal life that fans rarely see.

Schefter discussed the book with his co-author and friend Michael Rosenberg during a recent edition of The Adam Schefter Podcast. While the memoir has garnered much public and critical acclaim, Schefter tells Front Row in the video above the most important feedback he has received.

EDITOR’S NOTE: This week on The Adam Schefter Podcast, he talks to Browns WR Jarvis Landry about Cleveland’s first win, the “Bless ‘Em” phenomenon, Baker Mayfield and more (:45). Plus, Michael Lombardi discusses his life in football and working alongside legendary NFL personalities (12:35), and Evan Kaplan takes a dive into what the stats say about Week 4’s biggest matchups (28:14).
