Long before Vice President, Executive Producer, ESPN Films and Original Content Libby Geist became an Oscar-winning creator of memorable TV and films, she was frequently found as the subject of memorable content, courtesy of her dad, Bill Geist.
This past Sunday, after 31 years of incredible storytelling, Bill retired from CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” and his final piece – like many before – included clips of Libby and her brother, MSNBC’s Willie Geist, from throughout their lives.
“I never knew it was weird to grow up with cameras in the kitchen and strangers telling my dad they love him everywhere we went,” Libby told Front Row. “I was lucky enough to grow up with someone who told stories about small towns, quirky characters and found laughter and interest in just about everything.
“If just 1/100th of his big heart and creativity rubbed off on me, I’m one lucky girl,” said Libby, who was recently named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s “Women Worth Watching” list.
