#TBT: As Around the Horn turns 15, a look back at the very first show

ESPN’s Around the Horn marks its 15-year anniversary this week. The video above highlights the first show from Nov. 4, 2002, with original host Max Kellerman (now of First Take) and panelists T.J. Simers (Los Angeles Times), Woody Paige (Denver Post), Jay Mariotti (Chicago Sun-Times) and Bob Ryan (Boston Globe). Also, the disembodied voice who introduces the show is former ATH producer Bill Wolff, now ESPN Vice President, Studio Production.

Friday marks the 3,362nd episode. Over the past decade-and-a-half, Kellerman and Tony Reali (since 2004) are Around the Horn’s only full-time hosts. There have been 36 panelists all-time. Paige leads the group with 553.5 career wins, while Mina Kimes, who debuted this March, already has the best overall winning percentage (35.7 percent – 10 wins in 28 appearances) among show regulars.

Aaron Solomon and Jeff Weiner produced the video.
