Welcome to another edition of #TBT: Throwback Thursday. Today, celebrated football coach and former ABC analyst Dick Vermeil visited ESPN’s Bristol, Conn. campus to take part in a “Car Wash.” Vermeil, who coached ESPN analysts Ron Jaworski and Herm Edwards for the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl XV, made appearances running the gamut from SportsCenter to ESPN Radio to ESPN.com and NFL Live.

He’ll be seen on ESPN again Saturday, Jan. 18 as a head coach in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl (6 p.m. ET).

In the 1990s, Vermeil was a college football analyst with ABC, often working with Brent Musburger as the photo above illustrates.

Did you know? In 2006, Vermeil joined Jaws and Brad Nessler in the booth for a San Diego Chargers-Oakland Raiders game — that was the nightcap of ESPN’s first Monday Night Football telecast, a doubleheader.
