Double take: #ClevelandASmith a k a Jamie Foxx confronts “twin” Stephen A. Smith on First Take

Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Foxx joined ESPN’s First Take team of Stephen A. Smith, Molly Qerim and Max Kellerman for one hour today.

How does that happen? It helps if you are friends with him.

“Jamie and I have been friends for years,” Smith said. “I asked and he was kind enough to carve time out of his busy schedule to come. Simple as that.”

And, Foxx has created Cleveland A. Smith (see videos above and below), his impersonation of Stephen A. Smith, who appeared in skits throughout the show. First Take is in Los Angeles today and tomorrow for the Los Angeles Lakers’ home opener tonight.

Foxx and the crew spent time discussing the NBA (Foxx predicting a Cleveland sweep of Golden State), NFL, the Dallas Cowboys (Foxx is a fan) and Ezekiel Elliott’s six-game suspension.

ESPN Vice President, Network Content, David Roberts, summed up Foxx’s appearance.

“The biggest names in sports and entertainment consistently have made First Take the destination for high impact appearances. Jamie Foxx is the latest example. He brought insight, energy and fun to the program on television and across our digital platforms, underscoring our commitment to serve sports fans with memorable moments and the element of surprise. Today was truly special.”

Editor’s Note: First Take airs weekdays on ESPN and the ESPN app from 10 a.m.–noon ET and is replayed from noon-2 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
